About the Project

Launched in November 2023, Make it Count! believes that educational empowerment for youth is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering well-being for marginalized communities. It seeks to create a platform to supplement traditional STEM curricula and revolutionize the approach to mathematics education. When the educational landscape in the country was analyzed, several interlinked challenges came to the fore. First, the curriculum offered in schools often falls short in providing a holistic understanding of mathematical concepts, instead focusing solely on theoretical and rote learning. Second, financial constraints become a major hurdle for students, preventing them from accessing the supplementary material that could truly enhance their learning experience. 

With this in mind, Project Make it Count! has developed the Cardinal Curriculum, which aims to to not only teach mathematical concepts but also provide practical insights, tips, and tricks to make the subject more approachable. This will allow students to hone their logical and analytical thinking skills and begin connecting classroom learning to real-world applications. To expand on this resource and cater to a variety of learning styles, we have also conceived a series of educational YouTube videos that will cover fundamental topics within the subject in an interactive and engaging manner. These educational resources will be supplemented by fundraising campaigns and book donations for true on-ground impact, along with Olympiad-like competitive challenges designed for disadvantaged youth eager to expand on their skillset. Make it Count! is committed to empowering the next generation with the tools and resources necessary to excel in mathematics and, consequently, in the broader STEM landscape.
